Since 2016, PSM has been black and white.

A hardback collector's book, printed in small runs, made to earn its place on the shelf.

At its best, PSM feels like a dialogue between an admired artist and the woman chosen for this particular dance. The photographer leads with vision. She remains the center of attention.

PSM is, in many ways, fashion photography without fashion. Trend, branding and seasonal styling are left outside. What remains is the language of fashion reduced to its essentials: silhouette, posture, texture, attitude, tension, and gaze. There are trends, and there are standards.

The woman in PSM is never passive. She may be observed, admired or desired, but she is never diminished. Self possessed, elegant, fully aware of her presence. Beauty with authority, mystery and composure. Nothing casual. Nothing decorative.

Some images are meant to be discovered on paper. Each issue is edited with restraint and sequenced with intention, and the photograph is left to speak on its own. On paper it gains scale, silence and time.

Issue by issue, PSM has found its readers by word of mouth. People who buy books they intend to keep.
